Advocacy in Action: holding systems accountable
Last year, the Autism Alliance of Michigan (AAoM) released an Education Stakeholder Analysis that included significant participation from a robust field of cross-sector representation.
Based on the collective input, a few themes were identified which outlines barriers for students with disabilities to access inclusive educational opportunities and outcomes.

In keeping with AAoM’s Education pillar strategic goals to advance system accountability and transparency, we have submitted public comment today on MDE’s Annual State Application for Funds under IDEA Part B for Federal Fiscal Year (FFY) 2024.
Many of our comments reflect ongoing concerns that have been raised by our core constituents and members of our statewide grassroots coalition MiPAAC as well as those issues raised in our 2023 Education Stakeholder Analysis.
